I began teaching English as a foreign language 10 years ago and I haven't looked back since! A lifelong passion for discovering new countries and their cultures has propelled me along this route and I am now fortunate enough to interact with interesting people from diverse backgrounds on a daily basis. Each encounter brings new challenges and I enjoy getting to know my students and tailoring lessons to cover their individual interests and needs. My experience includes teaching academic, business and aviation English as well as more general language lessons. I have taught students on their pre-sessional courses at Coventry University and hosted homestay students wanting to ‘immerse themselves’ in English. More recently I have enjoyed teaching in the world of aviation and have worked with pilots and air traffic controllers to prepare them for their ICAO English language tests.
I have a BA in Agricultural and Forest Sciences from the University of Oxford and pursued a career in logistics before discovering the world of English language teaching. I hold a CELTA English teaching qualification and also work as an examiner for the English Speaking Board (ESB).
I live with my family in a small village in ‘The Heart of England’, close to the historic towns of Warwick and Stratford upon Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare. I enjoy rowing on the river Avon, tennis and yoga as well as walking the long-distance footpaths in the UK with a group of like-minded friends. When I’m not busy with my family, work or hobbies I’ll be thinking about, reading about or planning my next travel adventure!
