Aviation English Self Study 
Climb from Level 4 to Level 5, or Level 5 to Level 6 with the ETO Aviation English Self Study course. You can make fast and efficient progress by following our specially designed and structured course. 
 
Course details
The course is for pilots and ATCOs who want to prepare for the ICAO English test using a self study course. It covers all the essential vocabulary recommended by the ICAO in Document 9835 - Manual on the Implementation of ICAO Language Proficiency Requirements.

Course specification
The course consists of approximately 50 hours of self study material with approximately 20 minutes of audio, and includes the following:
  • 24 vocabulary lessons, with answers (pdf files)
  • Pronunciation audio files for each lesson (mp3 files)
  • 1 x 25 minute ICAO English level assessment 
The ICAO English level assessment 
This is conducted by one of our Aviation English instructors on Skype and follows the format of a typical ICAO English test:
  • Answering personal questions
  • Answering job related questions
  • Describing an aviation photograph
  • Answering follow up questions 
  • Broader discussion about aviation topics
  • Avialability: 
    Monday: 09.30 to 12.30 GMT
    Monday:14.00 to 16.30 GMT
At the end of the interview, the instructor will tell you your ICAO English Level and recommendations for expanding your English. This is an informal assessment and a certificate is not provided.
